Recorded Video Sessions on Graphics
1.
Using Cameras
In this session you will learn the basics of the Unity camera system. You will learn about perspective and orthographic cameras as well as how to layer multiple cameras to achieve interesting effects. Unity tutor: Mike Geig

2.
Using Lights
In this session you will learn the basics of Unity's Light component. We will look at point, spot, and direction lights as well as cookies and other light-related things. Unity tutor: Mike Geig

3.
Fun with Lasers!
One of the questions I get asked a lot is: "How do I make a gun that shoots lasers instead of bullets in Unity?" Well my little test subjects, let me show you! In this session you will be learning how to use ray casting and line renders to make laser guns. Only basic assets will be used so that you can follow along at home. This is an intermediate level lesson, so be sure to be familiar with the concepts of scripting in Unity in order to understand the content. Come join us as we shoot some stuff! Tutor: Mike Geig

4.
The Particle System
This session we get to grips with the Unity Particle system, and learn how to use it for a variety of effects.

5.
Cinematic Explosions - PIT
PIT stands for Putting it Together. In this session we will be combining knowledge of particles, audio, and physics to build a complete and cinematic explosion effect. Let's give Michael Bay a run for his money! Tutor - Mike Geig

6.
Cinematic Composition - PIT
Putting It Together - Who doesn't like a good action movie? The best part is always when the super human hero walks away from an explosion in slow motion. With that in mind, I decided to recreate this magical moment in Unity using assets from the Asset Store. In this session we will talk about scene composition, effects like slow-motion, and using canned assets to build rich media. Let's be honest though, mostly this session is about having fun. Come join us while we (again) blow things up! Tutor: Mike Geig

7.
Image Effects: Overview
In this live training session we're going to show you how to add image effects to your game including bloom, screen space ambient occlusion, global fog and vignette and chromatic aberration.

8.
Fun with Explosions!
With a title like that, do you really need a description? Everyone likes blowing stuff up and so that is exactly what we are going to do. In this session we will be playing around with physics. We will be using impact force, overlap spheres, and other shenanigans to rain down havoc on the denizens of our game world. Don't forget to wear safety glasses. Tutor: Mike Geig

9.
Exploring the Blacksmith Environment
In this session we will put on our hiking boots and grab our ice axes and go exploring through the environment package used in The Blacksmith: Environments.
