Thomas Suarez
https://tomthecarrot.com 18-year-old Thomas Suarez taught himself programming at the age of 7 and developed his first iPhone app at age 9. He is currently spearheading the creation of WiTag (smartphone laser tag) and ORB (a superfast modular 3D printer). At 12, Thomas gained notoriety from his 2011 TEDx talk on the subject of kids teaching kids in the world of programming. His talk has been viewed over six million times and translated into 37 languages, making it one of the most viewed TEDx talks of all time. He is a 2012 Tribeca Film Festival Disruptive Innovation Award recipient and fellow and a 2013 California Latino Legislative Caucus Spirit Award Honoree. Thomas is committed to sharing his passion for technology with students everywhere. After noticing the lack of programming education, he initiated his own programming class, AppCity, based on industry-standards. Thomas has spoken at conferences around the world, including in the United States, Mexico, and the Middle East.
