So for adding a bit of "whimsical-ness" I went with trying to make a VFX simulating fireflies. You may notice that the fireflies that appear also leave behind a faint small trail of dust or light. I just thought it may add to the fantasy aspect of scene. It would be kind of like fairies or something leaving trails behind as they fly. All of this was achieved by tweaking the many aspects of a particle system including the main module, emission, shape, velocity/color over lifetime, noise, and the sub emitter.
