Eventually you will want to create a shader that animates continuously or at certain points in time. Whatever the goal, you will use the Time node to achieve this. The Time node allows you to access multiple time variables to work with within the shader. In this tutorial, you will learn to adjust and manage animations in Shaders.

Gradients are used for many things within Shaders, such as fading transparency, allowing a shift between two or more colors over time, or adding a vignette. Within the Shader Graph, there are two Gradient nodes you’ll want to become familiar with. In this tutorial, you will learn to adjust gradients to customize Shaders.

In this tutorial, we’ll create a Shader Graph to displace the vertices of a mesh along their normals by an amount controlled with procedural noise.

With Unity’s Visual Effect Graph, you can integrate Shaders from Shader Graph into your effects. Although currently an experimental feature, it provides new opportunities for enhancing the look and feel of your effects without doing any Shader coding. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create Shaders in Shader Graph that are compatible with the Visual Effect Graph, explore how properties can be integrated into your effects, and use these properties to drive your Shader effects. There will be times when you want to manipulate the UVs, tiling or offset of your Textures, normals or results of a gradient. This is when the Tiling and Offset node becomes useful. In this tutorial you will learn how to use the Tiling and Offset node.

Working on a Shader requires you to use different positional information than the default coordinates. The Position node allows you to select which coordinate system to use.
