1. What is the Interactive Guide to Cross-Platform UI?

The Interactive Guide to Cross-Platform UI offers a way to learn Unity UI features and workflows in a fun, interactive format — all within the Unity Editor. It's intended for creators who are already familiar with core Unity concepts like Components or Scene navigation.

The Guide teaches concepts such as adaptive UI scaling, setting up UI input interactions, UI optimization, and much more. Each step of the process involves the refining of a game inventory UI example from the Unity Open Project, Chop Chop. After completing the Guide, you'll have an understanding of the approaches you can take to create a UI that works across PC, console, and mobile devices.

2. Get started with the Interactive Guide to Cross-Platform UI

The Guide is available to download via the Unity Asset Store and requires the use of Unity version 2020.3 LTS. You can add it to your "My Assets" collection with your Unity account and directly import it into a new 2020.3 LTS project via the Package Manager.

Once imported into your project, a Welcome Dialog window should appear to direct you to the Tutorials menu. If not, you can open the Tutorials menu by going to the Menu Bar and selecting Tutorials > Show Tutorials.

3. Enjoy the Guide's Tutorials!

In the Tutorials window, you'll find the four Tutorials that make up the Guide. We highly recommend that you follow the Tutorials in their numbered order, as each Tutorial builds up from concepts and results from the previous Tutorial.

Each page within a Tutorial requires you to complete specific tasks to progress to the next page. Once you have successfully completed each required task, a green check mark will appear on the page and an option to move to the next section will unlock at the bottom of the Tutorials window.
