Meet the Creators

Throughout the Creative Core pathway, you will hear from a variety of established creators who will share their expertise and perspective on becoming a real-time creator. You will hear the stories of visual artists, immersive artists, lighting artists, sound designers, AR/VR artists, and game designers to show the variety of backgrounds and experiences that make up the Unity creative community.

We encourage you to explore the work of these creators to get a sense of their creative journey, their style, and their expertise:

As you listen to each established creator, try to identify:

• How different their paths into real-time creation are.
• The skills each creator specializes in.
• How they use their skills today.

You’ll hear from some creators who are solo, freelance creators and some who are full-time employees. Some came from academia and some learned on their own. There are opportunities for creators from many backgrounds to find their way in the real-time industry.

In your Creative Core journey, you’ll be working on a range of projects. You’ll also be building an independent project to showcase your skills in all of the Creative Core domains. Here, our established creators share the first projects they created. We hope their stories will act as inspiration for your project that you will build by the end of this pathway.

It can be hard to understand everything you are learning during the process of creating, especially when you’re focused on achieving a particular outcome! Before you start your journey, take some time to reflect on what our creators learned from their first creative real-time projects.

As you complete missions in the Creative Core pathway, think of the insights the creators shared. Take note of things you think you are learning along the way — both technical and non-technical skills and competencies.

Evaluate your ongoing learning journey

Different people find different tools helpful for reflecting on their learning journey and development as a creator. Some creators find that keeping a regular journal or blog works well for recording and reflecting on their practice. Others prefer regular conversations with peers or a mentor to help them more deeply evaluate their growth journey. And there are other approaches too — you can explore what works for you as you progress through this learning pathway.
