2. What are Unity Plans?
In this video, our experts explain the main differences between Unity plans and give some advice on selecting the right plan for you.
3. Unity Plans in detail
Each Unity plan provides different benefits and features. They also have different eligibility requirements.
Personal Plan
Use the Personal plan at no cost if you are working as an individual and you have received less than $100K in revenue or funding for your Unity projects in the last 12 months. It includes all the basic functionality of Unity. It’s probably the right fit for you!
If you’re a verified student or educator, you can also get additional benefits to support your learning journey. You’ll explore the Education Plans in the next step.
Plus, Pro, and Enterprise Plans
The Plus, Pro, and Enterprise plans are Unity’s paid plans, with features including additional monetization options, storage, support, and training. These plans are for professional Unity developers and organizations.
- If you are using Unity for your own personal projects (not in your work for a company), and if you have received more than $100K in the last 12 months from your use of Unity, then you must use Unity Plus or Pro.
- If you work for an organization that has earned more than $200K in the last 12 months from any sources, you must use Unity Pro or Enterprise.
- Any person or organization that pays the subscription fees may use Unity Pro or Enterprise. The Enterprise plan is specifically for teams with at least 20 members.
For complete details, see our comparison of the Unity plans and our terms of service.
4. Unity Education Plans
If you’re a student or educator, one of the Unity Education plans is the best choice to support your learning journey with us. These are no-cost plans that include one subscription to Unity Pro.
Who is eligible for these plans?
You’re eligible for one of these plans if you’re one of the following:
- a student enrolled in an accredited educational institution, who is of legal age to consent to the collection and processing of your personal information (this age is different depending on your location)
- an educator at the post-secondary or secondary level in a qualified institution.
For complete details about Unity for Educators, see the Unity Educator page.
What are the benefits of the Unity Student plan?
The best thing about the Unity Student plan is that it meets you at your personal experience level.
Cloud-based collaboration tools and specially-curated asset bundles will help you start on your learning journey if you’re a beginner. If you have prior experience in real-time or digital content creation, you might find more value in Cloud Build and Cloud Advanced Diagnostics functionalities.
GitHub itself is also a very useful tool to support version control in Unity. (You can find out more about version control in The production phase: Version control.)
