Welcome to your first Project! This project is divided into two tutorials: a learning tutorial and a challenge tutorial.

In the learning tutorial, you'll learn how to navigate around Unity's editor and maneuver in a 3D space.

In the challenge tutorial, you'll learn about GameObjects, the basic building blocks of a Unity project, and how to manipulate them to create a 3D scene. 

So let's dive in! If you've never used Unity's Editor before, review the graphic below to familiarize yourself with the important windows of the interface. 

Build a 3D World

 By the end of this project, you’ll be able to:

Distinguish between and use the three most common types of Unity lights: Directional Light, Spot Light, and Point Light

Illuminate a simple scene using multiple light types

Illuminate a volcano scene using multiple light types

Real-Time Environments

By the end of this project, you’ll be able to:

Create simple animations using animation clips
 

The CAD Workflow and Animation

The goal of this project is to teach you  how to set up an AR scene using Apple’s ARKit framework. After setting  up the scene, you will spawn an object on a specified plane, and then  rotate, scale, and reposition that object using two screen touch points  (two fingers interacting with your screen). 

AR Functionality

Understand the differences between direct and indirect lighting and how each type affects your scene

Recognize the differences among baked, real-time, and mixed lighting and the implications of each on runtime performance

Understand how to use additional Unity lighting features such as Skyboxes, Reflection Probes, and Area Lights
 

Polish and Performance

Design an Augmented Reality experience that can be used to  visualize products and narratives, at any time from your mobile phone.

Create highly realistic and immersive virtual scenes by  manipulating features, such as lighting, materials and textures, object  animations, and post-processing effects.

Implement interactive menus to quickly toggle between products, application features, such as lighting and interaction settings.

Import 3D CAD models directly into Unity, for accurate  visualization and product design reliability.

Incorporate information media (audio, video, text, and images) to  enhance the informational delivery and narrative and your user’s virtual  experience.
