This learning project is an introduction to real-time creation: what it is, what makes it valuable in the development of games, animations, and interactive experiences, and how it came to be. This background information is essential for those who want to understand the context and origins of their career path in real-time development.

Learn how code shapes Unity experiences, work with your IDE, and create or edit script components that output messages to the Console window.

Explore the default contents of a new Unity script, edit the script in your IDE, and send output to the Console window.

Practice editing C# scripts to modify a GameObject Transform and call Unity APIs for visible changes in a Scene.

This learning project will give you a sample of the essential tasks of a Unity programmer. These tasks can also be useful in any other role when you want to customize the ways GameObjects behave. Although many tasks in Unity don’t require programming, it can also be helpful to understand these fundamentals.

In these tutorials, you will create a simple script and add it to a GameObject as a component. You will be introduced to the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that comes with Unity, and explore the default script that every Unity programmer starts from. You will change a GameObject using a script to get a glimpse of the possibilities of scripting for your own projects.
