Welcome to AR Development! In this learning Pathway, you'll create Augmented Reality (AR) applications that are compatible with iOS and Android devices. You’ll use Visual Scripting and Unity’s AR tools to develop a wide variety of engaging AR experiences. This pathway assumes a basic knowledge of Unity.

There are a few tools we must set up before developing Unity applications for either iOS or Android devices. If developing for iOS, this involves setting up Xcode (Apple’s integrated development environment (IDE)) on your development machine. Xcode is required to deploy our Unity builds onto our iOS devices.

The Unity Native Toolkit, available in the Asset Store, “makes it easy to integrate native iOS or Android functionality into your Unity project.” In this tutorial, we’ll use the Native Toolkit to create a UI button for taking photographs in AR, or screenshots in general. (You can also capture a screenshot using code, for example, with an in-game camera.)
