Review and Redesign

In this tutorial you will review and implement the feedback that you received from your peers in order to make finals improvements to your game.

Languages available:

1. Receiving Feedback

2. Assignment: Game Build after Playtest

You're in the home stretch – this is your last pre-alpha build.

Most playtests result in a long list of bugs to fix and design choices to tweak. That will be the focus of your efforts this week, but you'll also continue to add content and fix bugs as you journey towards the last milestone in this course – alpha.

That said, if you’re still struggling to get some cool feature working, you’ll need to drastically simplify it or drop it. Pretending you can get it done doesn’t mean that you can, and the goal is still a finished game. You’re going to release it next week in whatever condition it’s in.

When you’ve turned in your build, you’ll be assigned to look at a classmate’s build and do a quick check-in about whether they seem to be on track. And next week, you’ll release your game.

Here are the steps:

  1. Using your sprint plan, start building.
  2. Share your build.
  3. Provide feedback to at least two other course member’s submissions.

3. What's Next?

In the next module you’ll release your game! You’ll hear from our guests about what it feels like to put a game out into the world and let it go. And you’ll get some ideas about what to do next after this course!

Sky Harvest – Fruit Catch Challenge | Game Build After Playtest

Sky Harvest – Fruit Catch Challenge | Game Build After Playtest

This submission contains the updated build of Sky Harvest – Fruit Catch Challenge after completing the first round of playtesting. Based on the feedback collected from players and my Sprint 5 plan, I focused on improving the core gameplay experience by refining fruit spawn timing, enhancing basket responsiveness, improving score and timer visibility, polishing the Game Over screen, and balancing the overall gameplay. This build reflects the improvements made after reviewing the playtest results and applying an iterative Agile development process. The changes were prioritized using Scrum practices to create a smoother, more enjoyable, and more polished player experience while preparing the project for the final release milestone in the Unity Junior Programmer pathway. Included in this submission are updated gameplay screenshots, the latest gameplay demonstration video, the Sprint 5 board, and the latest WebGL build for testing. Thank you for reviewing my submission. I appreciate any feedback or suggestions that can help further improve the game.
