In this 2D Mission, you'll create a top-down 2D version of the interactive living room scene you created earlier. 

Just like in the 3D scene, you'll control a character, and try to collect all the objects in a room. By completing this scene, you'll learn how working in 2D is similar to working in 3D, but also how it’s different.

Mission 6 - Publishing Essentials

To easily and widely distribute your project across different platforms, publishing your projects as a web-based experience is definitely the way to go!  With just a click of a button, you can change your target platform from desktop to WebGL (Web Graphics Library). WebGL is a format that you can easily upload and embed on any common web browser, including Unity Play, which is Unity’s free hosting platform for any of your WebGL builds!

When you’re ready, this tutorial will guide you through building and publishing your project on Unity Play, which you can then easily share with friends!

Now you’re ready to create a new WebGL version of your project and publish it on Unity Play.

Unity provides a package called WebGL Publisher, which is a tool that streamlines the building and publishing process of your projects directly onto Unity Play.

Note: This step can take up to 30 minutes.


1.  From the top menu, go to Publish > WebGL project.

2.  In the Publish window, select Build and Publish.

• If you are prompted to switch to WebGL, select "Switch to WebGL" and choose a folder for your build in the window that appears. 

• You can use the default folder or create a new folder to store your build files.

3.  When your build is complete, select Next to continue.

Note:  If you are not signed in, you’ll first Select Get Started to sign in, then you’ll be able to build and publish.

You’re almost ready to share! Before you do, add some details for your project directly on Unity Play: a title, description, and a thumbnail, if you like.

It’s also a good idea to test one more time, to make sure that everything works as expected. And then select Save!

When you’re ready, share the link so others can play your game!
