You can see from the documentation that XRGrabInteractable is a child class of XRBaseInteractable. The grabbable functionality is implemented in XRGrabInteractable. Therefore, if you extended XRBaseInteractable, you would not be able to grab it. You would need to extend XRGrabInteractable to inherit its grabbable functionality.

To override a method, you must include the “override” keyword. 

The method signature includes an “interactor” parameter - this cannot be removed. 

The method has a return type of Transform - so the body must include a return statement that returns a Transform.

When calling the base method, you need to pass in the required arguments, which in this case is one named “args”.

If you don’t include this base method call, none of the functionality from the parent class will happen. All functionality will be overridden by whatever is in this override method.

For normalized values, which are values between 0 and 1, the dot product will return 1 for vectors in the same direction, -1 for vectors in opposite directions, and 0 for perpendicular vectors. 

These vectors are perpendicular, not sharing any X, Y, or Z components. Therefore, the dot product would be 0.

Physics.Raycast will return true if the ray defined by the position and direction hit something with a collider. The “hit” variable provides information about the object that was hit by the ray. This code has nothing to do with the orientation of the objects.
