In this unit, you will set up your computer and your VR headset so that they are ready to begin VR development. In these tutorials, you will:

Install the correct version of Unity, including any required export modules.

Configure your device for testing and development, including downloading any additional required software.

This course is a blend of recorded live learning sessions, self-paced tutorials, and projects. Each unit will consist of:

An hour-long recorded live session, led by Mark Suter (Elida High School), Debbie Boscombe (Diman High School) and special guests, with tools, tips and strategies to bring VR development into the classroom.

~5 hours of self-paced learning and hands-on projects.

A recorded open office to support educators with projects and to answer questions related to teaching VR. 

This course is for educators who want to equip their students with the skills and experience that will enable them to be the creators of tomorrow. The course provides training, support, community, and resources for educators to successfully teach VR development with Unity.

In the self-paced part of this course, you will learn to design and develop your own Virtual Reality (VR) applications. You will create prototypes, attempt challenges, and complete quizzes to build and solidify your skillset. Whether you want to create an interactive walkthrough of an ancient ruin, a product configurator for a car manufacturer, a simulator for operating dangerous machinery, or any other experience, this course will help you and your students bring those ideas to life in VR.

In the coming weeks, you'll learn more about what it takes to develop VR experiences in Unity and how to equip students with the skills and experience that will enable them to be the creators of tomorrow. The course provides training, support, community, and resources for educators to successfully teach VR development with Unity, the industry-leading interactive design and development tool.

Recognize the potential of VR across industries and identify real-world career opportunities for students with these skills.

Gain a foundational knowledge of VR development in Unity by creating your own projects.

Identify best practices and approaches for teaching Unity.

Access resources such as a syllabus, curriculum, and lesson plans to bring VR development into your classroom, program, or curricula.

Led by Mark Suter (Elida High School), Debbie Boscombe (Diman High School) and special guests, these sessions include tools, tips, and strategies to bring VR development into the classroom.

These sessions, led by expert educators, offer support for educators with course projects and answer questions related to learning and teaching VR in the classroom. 

~5 hours of self-paced learning and hands-on projects included in Unity’s new Create with VR course.

Note: This course does not include the Personal Project Labs available in the full Create with VR course. We have excluded these tutorials to enable educators to complete the course in under 30 hours.
