In this unit, you'll learn how to integrate the Discord Social SDK’s powerful social features directly into your Unity games, creating engaging experiences that keep players connected both in-game and on Discord.

By completing this unit, you’ll learn the following:

• How to create and join lobbies with the Social SDK.
• How to enable a player to invite their friends to lobbies in game.
• How to enable a player to send direct messages both in game and in the Discord client.

Before you begin

Before you get started, you’ll need to complete the Getting started with the Discord Social SDK for Unity tutorial. You’ll also need to have the following:

• Discord account: You'll need a Discord account in order to access the Discord Developer Portal. If you don't have one, create a Discord account at Discord.com.
• Unity 2021 or later: The Discord Social SDK supports Unity 2021 and later.
