Why are Assets Useful?
An Asset is a representation of any item that can be used in your project. This includes, but is not limited to, 3D models, image files (textures), materials, and audio. To put this into perspective, when we combine several assets together, we can create something meaningful that can be included in a Unity experience.
Let's consider an example: say you want to create a scene with a small house in it. What assets do we need to create that house? All of the examples below are types of assets in a Unity scene. Note: assets are more than just physical objects.
Other examples of assets include audio files, video files, images, and code scripts (we’ll discuss these later) that can also be added to continue enhancing the experience! The more assets we layer into a scene, the more realism we bring. Assets take our scenes from simple to lifelike and are the building blocks we need to create immersive Unity experiences.
