Summary
When you're just getting started creating cutscenes, there is a very strong temptation to just dive right in and create the scene as you go, after all, it's just animating a camera at a level, right. As this truth, most thing in game development, there's much more to it. While there isn't anything inherently wrong with tinkering around, in a production environment, it's always ideal to work with a plan. Whether you're working in a large team or just by yourself, a little bit of preproduction keeps your original vision in the forefront of your mind and allows you to avoid pitfalls that you might otherwise encounter if you were playing it by ear.
