In this tutorial, we're going talk about the language of level design to help you understand some of the key concepts and terms you'll encounter working with other professional designers. Concepts covered in this module include the importance of creating a rollercoaster of rhythm and difficulty to keep players engaged and entertained, what level designers mean by flow and some common methods of designing the flow of a level, and some common player types that you should keep in mind while designing your levels. We'll wrap up by defining a bunch of terms that are important to the level design process such as ergonomics, ingredients, encounters, dissonance, scope, and gestalt.
